The Positive Progression System is a gambling strategy system which is obviously the opposite to the ‘Negative Progression System’ of gambling. Instead of increasing the best when losing as it is in the negative gambling system, the player chooses to increase his or her bets when winning. In any positive progression system, you effectively let your bet ride (Let It Ride). It is one of the oldest methods of wagering and was originally derived from the same premise that banking systems use to compound interest.
The best thing about the positive gambling system is that it does not require a big bankroll since it relies on winnings and is therefore the recommended system for any new player who feels that they must try one of the systems at all. It is therefore technically stress free and relatively easy to play since a player does not place increased bets when losing but does the opposite by increasing bets only when winning – it therefore does not expose that player to experiencing heavy losses.
It is for this reason that gambling with a positive betting progression system has long been the favourite approach amongst dealers and players alike. It follows an approach of just ‘letting it ride’.
The positive progression system requires that you increase your bet when you win or have hit a winning streak. By increasing your bets during winning streaks you can win more than you would had you been by flat-betting. If you are lucky enough to hit a winning streak you'll leave with a little more money than you would have otherwise. It must be said that the positive progression system does not overcome the house edge - it is still a game of chance.
This type of system also occurs in the investing industry and is termed 'The Anti-Martingale Sysytem'. The principles of 'risk taking' only on 'winning streaks' when you are playing a betting game or during periods of expansive growth in investing.
Positive progression gambling systems are the 1-3-2-6, the Parlay, and the Paroli systems. The 1-3-2-6 system is similar to the Paroli system which is based on the premise that you can win four times in a row. The Labouchere gambling system played in reverse is also considered a positive progression system, otherwise when played as the known Labouchere system, it falls under the negative progression category. These sytems require less capital and are usually used to take advantage of a winning streak.
